Other then going through several rounds of edits. I started a new script that’s sort of a mystery/suspense/horror.

what genre are you working on?

Currently mulling over a horror/comedy. Still working on the outline. You?

Mine is a horror suspense I just started. I’m about 20 pages in, but I thought I’d a new, more visual opening sequence the other night so I’m probably going to rewrite my first 5 or 6 pages this weekend before I charge further into what’s coming.

Do you have an outline or are you going the pantster route?

This time I actually did a small outline (usually I’m a pantser).

This is, at its heart a mystery, so I wanted to have specific beats where clues are dropped and layered into the narrative smoothly.

Excellent. A nice little hack is to start at the end and outline backwards.

That’s when someone writes by the seat of their pants with no outline.

I rewrote the first 14 pages over the weekend to better bring out the visuals and (hopefully) show the tone better.

and remove all the God Awful exposition I littered the initial pages with.

it reads better (still not perfect).

but I’ve got the first 21 pages complete now and have a 3 day weekend coming up to work on it. 🙂

I’m revising and restructuring a 30mintue episode that plays like a Scooby Doo mystery. Then, I need to get back to my Halloween Coming of Age teen horror script.
