it’s amazing how just a few hundred words has shaken the foundation and generated this much low level controversy (especially in the midst of the ongoing strike efforts).
The takeaways that really stood out to me – he was able actually leverage existing and new projects to secure a $200 million+ deal to get the Four-Sixes (though he still had to get an investor to close the deal), but he now has the biggest ranch in Texas – about the size of Los Angeles.
The other thing, and the one I think strikes far closer to home for a lot of writers, is his insistence he write everything himself. There was a comment (or an allusion to) about him not caring if others (writers) were being paid to sit in a room and do nothing.
And Paramount+ has out a lot of eggs in his basket, especially in their streaming business.
