Quick question. Which do you think is easier? Creating/Writing your own original script or fixing someone else’s script?

Writing my own.

I love to create stories and then spend days/weeks/months editing them. 🙂

I love to be challenged. Writing on spec is fun. My process allows me to write a great story quickly. When it comes to doctoring a troubled script. Woooo that is when I get the juice! I love the challenge of fixing/doctoring a troubled script. For me, there is a thrill in it that I find difficult to explain. It's literally exhilarating. As a script doctor, there is something about taking a script that others can't fix and then making it better. I just love it. It's like magic.

Wow. That was an impassioned reply. For me, doctoring is like solving a puzzle. Spec writing is pure joy in creating. They both stretch  my brain, but doctoring is uniquely challenging.
